Do you wish you had more proficiency working with wood or confidence using tools?

Have you ever wondered how a tree is turned into a beautiful hardwood cabinet or piece of furniture? Are you curious about using trees in your own woodlot for projects? This workshop for beginners will take away some of the hesitation you may have about tackling a project on your own by providing some helpful woodworking instruction in a supportive environment!

We will cover the basics of how a tree goes from forest to lumber: from milling and drying (kiln vs. air), to the differences and qualities of different hardwood species, to sawing methods. Then, we’ll have demos and hands-on practice with a variety of tools useful in various projects and learn techniques to use them confidently and well. Each participant will have the option to take away a small wooden item at the conclusion of the class.
