This two-day chainsaw safety course is designed for women. The focus of this course is overwhelmingly on safety: safe posture, safe practices, safe clothing, and safe habits. The first session will provide information about chainsaws, maintenance, safety clothing, and introduce participants to good practices.
The second day will be a full day of hands-on practice and application.
Beginners welcome! Come learn chainsaw safety, what safety gear is needed, and what to look for when buying a chainsaw. Learn how to cut firewood, clear brush, and buck small trees safely. PPE required.
This RI RC&D program is presented with the support of the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the Forest Stewards Guild.
