The Minnesota Women's Woodland Network (MNWWN) is hosting a workshop in the beautiful, wooded and rolling hills of Rice County, MN. This class is geared towards participants with little or no experience with a chainsaw or to those interested in becoming trainers for future women-focused chainsaw safety workshops.

Instructor tish carr, a licensed forester and arborist and owner of tish carr, Consulting, LLC will be joining us all the way from Maine! She has been working with chainsaws for over 40 years and has helped teach women-only classes in Maine for the last 20 years and has traveled to several different states to teach, train and empower women in safe saw handling, proper PPE and saw techniques. When tish is not teaching chainsaw classes, she is the Executive Director for Wabanaki Youth in Science (WaYS) and teaches community forestry and arboriculture at the local college and university.

The principal focus will be on safety; safe posture, safe practices, safe clothing and safe habits. This workshop will empower you to be comfortable with running a chainsaw and doing basic chainsaw maintenance.

**For those with more experience who are interested in becoming a trainer for future women-focused chainsaw workshops, we will have an additional evening class on Thursday for no additional charge. This additional Thursday course is only available for those with chainsaw experience who would like to become instructors. Please select on the registration form that you are interested in this additional training.**

Light snacks and limited beverages will be available. Lodging and meals are not included. Free camping on-site is available for those who would like to bring a tent or RV. If this is of interest, please advise and more information will be provided after registration. Let us know ASAP if you would prefer the camping option so we can accommodate accordingly.

If you have your own chaps, helmet, and chainsaw, please bring them to the workshop. A limited supply of these items will be available to use for those who do not have their own equipment.

Space is limited to 15 participants so register early at eventbrite.com/e/minnesota-womens-woodland-networks-womens-chainsaw-safety-workshop-tickets-404826325437.
