The Massachusetts Women Landowner Group (Women on the Land), Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust, North County Land Trust, and the Hubbardston Open Space Committee is offering a two-day chainsaw safety course to build proficiency for beginning women chainsaw users.

Register today for this 2-day comprehensive training. Work together alongside a small group of women and learn about safe use of this valuable tool. Topics covered include maintenance, sharpening, basic cuts, bucking, limbing and felling.

This is the second in a series of WOW Entomology publications. Each publication highlights a common insect impacting forests in a particular region of the United States, paired with an interview of a woman landowner who has had to address that insect in managing her forest.

The Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association and the Lakes Environmental Association of Bridgton, Maine, are partnering to offer a Women's Chainsaw Safety Workshop in August.

This two-day course chainsaw safety course designed for women. Most participants will have little or no experience with a chainsaw, though this course is also an effective refresher for more experienced individuals who have developed some bad habits with a saw. This is the gateway course to learning more advanced practices.
